At Invision Health & Wellness, we address a wide range of health problems – focusing on a whole-body, systematic approach rather than just addressing the symptoms. Dr. Doty will consult with you, and based on your history, current diet and lifestyle, design an individualized program that gets you the results you need.

Dr. Doty takes a 5-step, comprehensive approach to addressing your health issues. They include:

  • Clearing any gut infections that may exist. Most of these infections are ignored by physicians because they can’t be cleared with drugs due to the physician’s lack of knowledge of how the immune system works
  • Identifying whether the individual has blood glucose disorder (BGD).This generally goes untreated until someone develops full-blown diabetes.
  • Thoroughly reviewing the immune system in order to bring the entire system into balance.
  • Identifying any thyroid disorders. Like BGD, thyroid disorders are often overlooked until someone has developed hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism.
  • Analyzing an individual’s diet and nutritional balance.

Following are just some of the common health problems that Dr. Doty addresses on a daily basis:

  • Acne

Acne is most common during adolescence, affecting more than 85% of teenagers, and frequently continues into adulthood. For most people, acne diminishes over time and tends to disappear. However, some people continue to suffer well into their 20s, 30s, 40s and beyond.

Dr. Doty treats an individual’s hormonal imbalance and addresses dietary issues – including possible food allergies – to alleviate the acne.

  • Alopecia

With  alopecia areata,  your hair follicles are mistakenly attacked by your own immune system, which stops your hair from growing. Alopecia areata usually begins with one or more small, round, smooth bald patches on the scalp and can progress to total scalp hair loss or complete body hair loss.

Dr. Doty takes a close look at hormonal imbalances in which the excess production of androgenic hormones leads to the destruction of the hair follicles. This condition is very common in women who are on hormone replacement therapy, due to detoxification dysfunction.

  • Arthritis

Arthritis is a group of conditions involving damage to the body’s joints. There are different forms of arthritis ranging from osteoarthritis to rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis, as well as autoimmune diseases in which the body attacks itself.

Dr. Doty’s experience treating arthritis focuses on dietary changes, since food allergies can cause an immune reaction leading to inflamed tissue.

  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Chronic fatigue syndrome (also called CFS) is a disorder without a known cause. Those who suffer from CFS experience fatigue that exists for 6 months or more and is accompanied by problems with short-term memory or concentration.

This is an autoimmune disorder in which the immune system begins to increase a series of inflammatory mediators which attacks the energy centers of the body, leading to fatigue and exhaustion. Dr. Doty works on strengthening the immune system.

  •  Crohn's Disease

Crohn’s disease is an ongoing disorder that causes inflammation of the digestive tract, also referred to as the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Crohn’s disease can affect any area of the GI tract, from the mouth to the anus, but it most commonly affects the lower part of the small intestine, called the ileum. The swelling extends deep into the lining of the affected organ. The swelling can cause pain and can make the intestines empty frequently, resulting in diarrhea.

This is an autoimmune disorder in which the immune system begins to attack its own tissue.  The causes could result from a bacterial, parasitic, fungal or viral infection.  Dr. Doty looks at underlying food intolerances which cause inflammation.

  •  Diabetes

There are 2 main types of diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disorder which leads to the inability to release insulin from the pancreas to move glucose out of the blood.  Type 2 diabetes results from years of high glucose intake and insulin production.

The greatest problem with blood glucose disorders is high insulin levels begin to down-regulate insulin receptors leading to resistance. The key to correcting this problem is to increase the production of insulin receptors and their sensitivity, which leads to lower glucose levels and insulin in the body.

  •  Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition characterized by widespread pain in your muscles, ligaments and tendons, as well as fatigue and multiple tender points — places on your body where slight pressure causes pain. Fibromyalgia is more common in women than in men.

With this autoimmune disorder, the immune system begins to attack its own tissue, leading to pain and inflammation. Women are more susceptible due to their delicate hormone system. Dr. Doty reviews an individual’s hormone balances to check for and manage the immune system.

  • Eczema

Eczema is an allergic condition that affects the skin. Another name for eczema is dermatitis. In some people who are extra-sensitive to skin irritation, eczema can be triggered by anything coming in contact with the skin. Dry, flaky skin appears over red, inflamed areas, causing intense itching and burning.

This is a disorder related to nutritional deficiencies and an immune imbalance,  leading to inflammation and excessive growth of bacterial infection in the skin.  Dr. Doty reviews an individual’s nutritional profile and immune system to help resolve the eczema.

Hormone Imbalances

Hormone imbalance is a systemic disorder. It occurs in almost all women during the premenstrual part of their cycle.

The most common disorders associated with ordinary hormone imbalance reactions are:

    •  PMS
    • Weight problems
    • Loss of short-term memory
    • Fatigue
    • Skin problems
    • Mood swings
    • Diminished sex drive
Hormone imbalances in both men and women are a result of the inability of the person to regulate his or her blood glucose levels.  This is also a detoxification disorder in which the individual cannot remove the metabolized hormones from the body.  Immune imbalances can disrupt pituitary function, leading to improper timing of hormone release.

  • Infertility

Most experts define infertility as not being able to get pregnant after at least 1year of trying. Women who are able to get pregnant but then have repeat miscarriages are also said to be infertile. It is a problem experienced by both men and women.

This is a hormonal disorder which often occurs after using birth control pills. This problem can be corrected through blood glucose, detoxification and immune control.

  • Menopause

Menopause is the transition period in a woman’s life when her ovaries stop producing eggs, her body produces less estrogen and progesterone, and menstruation becomes less frequent, eventually stopping altogether. The symptoms of menopause are caused by changes in estrogen and progesterone levels. The specific symptoms experienced and how mild, moderate or severe varies from woman to woman.

A healthy woman will have no symptoms when she moves into menopause, as long as she is regulating her blood glucose levels and avoiding food intolerances.  This takes place because hormone balance is stabile rather then going through fluctuations normally seen when blood glucose levels are not regulated.

  • Migraines

Up to 17 percent of women and 6 percent of men have experienced a migraine headache. Often these headaches are preceded or accompanied by a sensory warning sign (aura), such as flashes of light, blind spots or tingling in your arm or leg. A migraine is also often accompanied by other signs and symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, and extreme sensitivity to light and sound.

Migraines are an inflammatory disorder of the brain.  Dr. Doty’s experience helps resolve migraines through properly balancing the immune system and neurotransmitter system.

  • Psoriasis

Psoriasis is an inflammatory skin condition. There are 5 types, each with unique signs and symptoms. Between 10% and 30% of people who develop psoriasis get a related form of arthritis called “psoriatic arthritis,” which causes inflammation of the joints. Plaque psoriasis is the most common type of psoriasis. This appears as patches of raised, reddish skin covered by silvery-white scales. These patches, or plaques, frequently form on the elbows, knees, lower back and scalp. However, the plaques can occur anywhere on the body.

This is an immune disorder which leads to inflammation, causing dysfunction in the proper timing and development of the skin cells. Dr. Doty addresses psoriasis by carefully evaluating food intolerances, detoxification disorders and nutritional deficiencies.

  • Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

Is also known as Stein-Leventhal Syndrome or Polycystic Ovary Disease (PCOD). Up to 10% of all women are affected, and most don’t even know they have it. While PCOD is one of the leading causes of infertility in women, it is treatable with changes in diet and exercise.

This is a disorder in which the ovaries develop cysts, leading to anemia and hormonal disorders.  It is a symptom of food intolerances, as well as the inability to regulate the blood glucose levels.
